Abstract
Elevator platforms
A platform stabilization coupler for transmitting acceleration forces to
an elevator platform disposed on an elevator car frame is presented. The
coupler includes a vibration member having a first surface disposed in
fixed relation to either one of the elevator car frame and the platform
Elevator platforms.. The coupler additionally includes a linear
bearing disposed in fixed relation to a second surface of the vibration
member. The bearing is disposed in moveable relation with the

other of the elevator car frame and the platform to allow substantially
vertical movement of the platform relative to the elevator car frame.
The vibration member and linear bearing provide a transmission path for
the lateral acceleration forces from the elevator car frame to the
platform.
ITALIAN MINISTRY OF MANUFACTURING OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Withdrawal from the market and restriction on the placing on the market
of some elevator platforms pursuant to Article 7 of European Directive
98/37/EC. (Official Journal No 177 of 1/8/2005) Having regard to the
Communications of the European Commission No 1519/2 final of 24 May 2005
and No 1519/1 final of 24 May 2005, in which the restrictive measures
adopted pursuant to Article 7 of Directive 98/37/EC of the European
Parliament and of the
Elevator platforms. Council of 22 June 1998 on the approximation of
the laws of the Member States relating to machinery (the “Machinery
Directive”) were deemed justified by market regulators in the following
Member States for the products indicated below: elevator platform model
no. Zelig F 800 EN (formerly F 800 ES), manufactured and sold by Zelig
S.p.A., 9 via Monte San Genesio, 20158 Milan (Italy); elevator platform
model no. SUP K 260, designed for use with vehicles, manufactured and
sold by Scala Universal Pistoia (SUP) Piattaforme Aeree S.r.l., 51/53
via Provinciale Lucchese, 51030 Serravalle Pistoiese (Italy)
Elevator platforms. In view of the fact that these do not
conform with the essential health and safety requirements (EHSR)
referred to in Article 3 of Directive 98/37/EC, and more specifically:
elevated platform model no. Zelig F800 EN (formerly F 800 ES) does not
conform with the EHSR referred to in paragraphs 4.2.1.4 and 6.1.3 (loading
control) of Annex I of Directive 98/37/EC since it had no loading
control mechanisms and the manufacturer's technical documentation failed
to demonstrate that all the positions attainable by the platform could
be reached safely under a nominal load; does not conform with the EHSR
referred to in paragraph 6.3.1
Elevator platforms. (risk of persons falling from the carrier) of
Annex 1 of Directive 98/37/EC since the platform had an anchorage point
for mechanisms designed to prevent falls, but the manufacturer’s
technical documentation failed to demonstrate that this was sufficiently
robust for said purpose; does not conform with the EHSR referred to in
paragraph 6.5 (indications) of Annex 1 of Directive 98/37/EC since there
were no indications on the platform as to the maximum permissible manual
force nor any warning that the machinery was intended to be used
exclusively indoors; does not conform with the EHSR referred to
Elevator platforms. In paragraphs 1.7.4 and 4.4.2 (instructions) of
Elevator platforms. Annex 1 of Directive 98/37/EC since the
instruction manual contained incorrect or imprecise information
regarding the nominal load, the maximum chassis inclination, anchorage
points for safety mechanisms and the fact that the machinery was
intended to be used exclusively indoors; therefore these instances of
non-conformity constitute a serious threat to the safety of workers and
other persons; elevator platform model no. SUP K 260 is non conform with
EHSR 1.3.2 and 4.1.2.3 (risk of break-up during operation) of Annex 1 of
Directive 98/37/EC since extensive cracks were found on the arm of the
platform; violation of Article 8 of
Elevator platforms. Directive 98/37/EC since the platform has no EC
declaration of conformity and the manufacturer has prepared an EC
declaration that refers to EC certification issued by an accredited
organisation that declares it has never issued any certificate for this
type of platform; therefore, these instances of non-conformity
constitute a serious threat to the safety of workers and other persons.
We wish to draw the attention of importers
Elevator platforms., distributors and users of the
aforementioned products to this fact so that they can take the necessary
measures in order to restore normal market operation within the European
Common Area.
